I'm passionate about three things: traveling in ways that take me off the beaten path, helping women decenter men, and building up women-owned businesses. Do they go together like peanut butter and chocolate? Not exactly. This is more of a chocolate and cheese situation. Both incredible on their own. You only eat them together if you're really high and have the munchies.
And yet, here we are.
Salka is a place to support the girls and theys. A place to form real connections and keep our money flowing toward people and places that buck the patriarchy. A place where you can have someone — me, specifically — plan you a deeply researched, curated-to-your-taste trip, with a local guide thrown in if you want one.
While you're here you can read travel essays and tips, browse local women-owned businesses, find a vetted person to rent a room from, and connect with women who are also figuring out how to live impractically and on their own terms.
And soon enough I'll be shoving in the other things that bring me joy: recommended books, ways to decenter romantic love from your life (even when you're in a relationship), and artists who deserve more hype than they're getting.
